Ingun Bjørnsgaard received the Norwegian Critics' Associations annual award for dance for her performance Largo autumn 2010, making her the first choreographer to receive the award twice.

Bjørnsgaard has been a central figure in Norwegian dance since the 1990s with her dance company Ingun Bjørnsgaard Prosjekt, and it is not without reason that she has been part of the Oktoberdans programme several times, including the first festival in 1997. In 2010 she took part again, and this time with the performance Ext. Trapp. Kveld.* (Ext. Stairs. Evening) as part of the concept Dans til Folket 2.
