Olaf Røinås, 1947, Stavanger Aftenblad [Stavanger]:
"In The Respectful Prostitute, Jean-Paul Sartre has given a shockingly crass contribution to the topical discussion about the negro problem. The great war against fascism's cultivation of power and racial hatred has, paradoxically, led to a rise in racial arrogance and racial persecution, even in places where this was unthinkable before the war. Rogaland Theatre sees it as an important part of its cultural mission to make the stage into a forum for current debate, and from this perspective, it was right and also artistically sound to perform The Respectful Prostitute."
