Skadeskutt* (Battle-scarred/Shot and damaged) (2018) is a planned theatre production by Teatret Vårt (Our Theatre). The text was devised by director Øystein Johansen and the actors Lars Melsæter Rydjord and Hugo Mikal Skår. The production opens in Storyville, Molde, during the festival Teaterfest 2018, prior to being performed on tour.

"Many who return from armed conflicts bring post-traumatic stress1 with them. Flight-fight response2 makes it possible to fight in a war. It means that the soldier only has two operational modes: To fight or withdraw. When the brain is unable to make up its mind, the body starts shivering. For a person with post-traumatic stress, a sound or a smell can awaken memories of situations where the stress levels were high, and trigger this shivering or other stress reactions.
Director Øystein Johansen and actors Lars Melsæter Rydjord and Hugo Mikal Skår will devise3 a story where two young men return from war, and are put on trial, accused of a war crime.

1Post-traumatic stress is a relatively prolonged, often chronic state, that may occur after severe or prolonged mental trauma. These could be accidents, war, disasters or abuse. The state is characterised by frequent flashbacks, where the scary experience is reimagined, both when the person is awake and asleep.
