"Suddenly, a boy gets up from the bed in which he has laid for the past year. He books a flight and leaves everything he knows.
Why Not Before is the story of this boy. We see him escape from and search for himself. The questions of why he runs and what makes him choose this particular day come up. Where does he want to go, and where will he end up?
Liv Heløe's text brings up the question of free will. In the partly dark rooms of Yngvar Julin's, actor Karl Flyman performs the story of the boy - in a musical soundscape created by composer and sound artist Amund Ulvestad. The result is a new theatre experience of sound, music and text, in which the audience can hear the world through the main character's ears and join him on his journey."
