"Hedwig grew up a boy in East Berlin during the 1960es and 70es, and went through a failed sex-change operation to be able to marry and come to the US. Recently divorced, in a trailer park in Kansas, she picks up her sky-high heels and establishes her own band, but her lover, a young, beautiful Jesus freak, steals her songs and becomes the rock star she always dreamed of being. However, the very tough Hedwig isn't easily defeated...
The glamrock musical about Hedwig has conquered Broadway, and the movie version already is a classic. A naughty and terrific celebration of love and the strength it takes to become a whole human being."
