Hair

"Hair, one of the very first rock musicals, created during 'the hippie era' in 1967, turns incredible 50 years this year. When Hair was born, as a product of the hippie movement, the sexual revolution of the 1960es and USA of the 1960es, it was innovative, flirting with sex and drugs and using young people's own language, going against racism and American participation in the Vietnam war. Because of its content, its use of language and its nudity, it became much talked about in its day.
With its message of peace, freedom, tolerance and anti-racism, and filled with a number of hits such as Aquarius, Good morning starshine, Manchester England, Let the sun shine in and others, Hair has been performed live all over the world for five decades, as well as being adapted into a movie. Even though its content no longer shocks, the wish for peace, freedom and anti-racism has become no less topical over the years."
