The spring of 2007 stage design students from The Norwegian Theatre Academy and students from The Norwegian Institute for Children’s Literature developed texts and ideas in collaboration. The process was laid out as a dialogue between stage design models and texts through several phases. The result was six texts presented as staged readings during Maratonfesten med nye barnetekster* (The Marathon Party of New Texts for Children) in The Open Theatre (Det Åpne Teater) September 15 2007.
Four of these texts were taken further in a new project in which the three stage design students in collaboration with acting students from The Norwegian Theatre Academy improvised around the text. The laboratory stunt went over three days without a budget and Childhood stories was a performance of the result of the experiments. The performance included three short stagings, each of approximately 30 minutes. The texts were performed in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish and English.
Stage designer Sille Dons Heltoft worked with Sveinung Lutro’s text under the project title of Bobsquad - Super Walk Shit.
Actors: Hanna Barfod, Ivar Furre Aam and Tijmen Legemaate
Stage designer Susanne Fjørtoft worked with Jeg vet ikke, men noe må det være* (I don’t know, but something there must be) by Marie Hafting. The characters and the visual were found in Grønt sandpapirkyss* (Green Sandpaper Kiss) by Martina Gaux
