At the webpage of The National Stage the following, among other things, is written about Inger:
'I didn't write poetry - I wrote it as it was', Inger Hagerup has said of poetry. In this monologue with Wenche Kvamme, the events of Hagerup's life are interwoven with her poetry, and we are given a warm and honest portrait by the multifaceted poet.
Few have described play and life, love and pain as intense as Inger Hagerup. Her burning interest in society made a mark on a whole generation, and she was ground-breaking within children's literature and erotic poetry. According to her son Klaus, Inger had no filter between life and poetry. She hunted insights and passionately grabbed hold of life's joys - and challenges.
This performance tells her own story of ups and downs, men and alcohol, but not least her relationship to her writing. We also meet people close to her, all embodied by Wenche Kvamme.
The production is based on books by and interviews with Inger and her son Klaus Hagerup, adapted for the theatre by Anne-Karen Hytten. The story is accompanied by music, performed by the jazz musician Jan Kåre Hystad.
