"Are we capable of realising change, and is it necessary? To create change can be difficult, but through dialogue and exchange of opinion between generations, we can contribute to increased awareness and ability to act.
Jeg vil høre havet is a dialogue project about climate, environment and how we handle change. A group of youth and seniors meet to exchange their thoughts about our shared future, and through documentary theatre they want to approach this complex issue - and perhaps give us a creative answer?
The theatre project, an arena for discussion with the audience, is led by playwright and director Toril Solvang and dramaturge Camilla Eeg-Tverbakk, who both worked on the dialogue project I møte med det tapte* (In meeting with the lost) at The National Theatre in 2013.
Camilla Eeg-Tverbakk is a professor in dramaturgy and performance. Her doctorate was written on documentary theatre as an arena for dialogue and debate, and she has long experience both as an actor and a dramaturge.
Toril Solvang has had particular interest in documentarism in her work as a playwright and director. She is educated as a dramaturge at Aarhus University, and a playwright at Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts. In many of her projects, she has used interview as a method for developing performing arts."
