"Danish theatre's wonder boy and enfant terrible, Christian Lollike, urges revolution.
Are you ready to make actual change? And if you are - what would you do?
Imagine a different world, a world without threats of climate change, crises, overpopulation and overproduction. Just think! You supposedly have the time for it. We can't create anything in one evening anyway. Or can we?
Revolution is kind of a sitcom in slow motion; a wholehearted attempt at defining a new reality, a new system, a civilisation with healthy conditions for life. In IKEA, four employees have been given the assignment of designing a window exhibition dedicated to the new human. It feels refreshingly painful, for the one burdened by powerlessness and the radical both.
In projects dealing with politically inflaming issues such as the climate threat, migration, commercial tyranny of beauty and right-wing extremism, playwright and director Christian Lollike has raised among the most exciting names of Danish theatre. His productions have been controversial at times, for instance the monologue Manifests 2083, illuminating the manifesto of the July 22 terrorist.
In collaboration with stage designer and costume designer Franciska Zahle, Christian Lollike shows us our greatest joys and vices, and our hopes for the future, in a world of shelves from IKEA, superheroes and Eurovision Song Contest."
