Johan Turi
Johan Turi (2017) was a theatre production by The National Sami Theatre Beaivváš. Johan Turi was based on a play by the same title by Harald Gaski and Gunnar Gjengset. The world premiere takes place at The Norwegian Theatre's venue Scene 3, prior to touring.

"Johan Turi is a story about how a meeting can change a life, and how a book can change the view of a whole people. Turi dreams of publishing a book explaining the life of the Sami people, and through it provide the authorities with knowledge of the Sami lifestyle, and perhaps influence the government to change its position on the Sami way of living.
Johan Turi is a production about the creation of a book, a production about dreams, temptation, doubt, seduction and regret.
On a train journey, Johan Turi meets the business leaderHjalmar Lundbohm from Kiruna. On the same journey, the Danish artist and scientist Emilie Demant shows up. Will they help him?"
