Buildings after catastrophes by Eva Meyer-Keller and Sybille Müller discusses disasters. We live in a time when disasters affect our daily lives, we’re confronted with floodings, droughts, earthquakes, volcanic outbursts and hurricanes on a daily basis. With mundane objects such as matches, salt, water, paper, leaves and a hairdryer the artists built models of disasters with the children. The models of Buildings after catastrophes weren’t finished before they were flooded, burned or blown over.

In the process the course of each disaster is examined. Why does earth shiver? How dangerous are submarine earthquakes? What is a tornado? What causes avalanches? Together the artists and the children develop the acknowledgment that small actions can lead to big consequences.
