Näcken* (The Neck)
- a dance installation
Näcken* (The Neck) by the Swedish dance company Dölsie builds, not surprisingly, on the Northern folk tales about the supernatural water creature Nøkken (The Neck).

In Dölsie’s Näcken* (The Neck) a wooden cube has the part of the neck, and the dance takes place inside the cube. The production lasts for three hours, during which the audience is free to come and go as one likes.
Sara Mathiasson and Sofia Restorp stand behind the company Dölsie. Mathiasson is educated within classic and modern dance while Restorp studies free art at Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm. Their different education backgrounds have great significance for their mutual choreographic works. Dölsie works seamlessly within different formats and aims to create a particular mood and unique language in its productions. Dölsie's work has been presented at Tanz Tage in Berlin, the Diskurs festival in Gießen and the Batârd festival in Brussels, among other places.
