More

At the website of The National Stage the following, among other things, is written about The Good Person of Szechwan:

"Three gods have been given a difficult assignment: They are sent to Earth to find a good person. In the town of Szechwan, they find hospitality with the prostitute woman Shen Te, and as thanks she is given a significant monetary gift. But can she survive as a good person in a ruthless world?

We follow Shen Te, who with increasing regularity dress in the role of a man- a clever business man. We follow her hopeless infatuations and exploitative acquaintances, and we join in when she finally must defend herself to the gods.

Bertolt Brecht's brutal, humorous and fairytale-like play reflects our contemporary day, and raises fundamental political and ethical issues: Can the world be changed? How? By whom?

Katrine Wiedemann is one of the most influential directors in Denmark, sought after in several countries. She stands behind a number of successful productions and is known for her playful, visual and physical stage expression."
