In Hvem er norskest?* (Who is most Norwegian?) by Kari Jenseg three actresses of different ethnic looks – Bengali, Korean and Norwegian – have accepted to participate in the entertainment program Hvem er norskest?. The motives vary and the opinions on diversity within the cultural community are divided. Backstage they also compete on who will get the part in a new production of Chekhov’s Three Sisters.
What is diversity? What makes a person Norwegian enough and what makes one so different he/she is part of creating diversity? Are multicultural actors used due to talent or hue?
Hvem er norskest? by Kari Jenseg was performed during the festival Twist 08, in collaboration between Det Åpne Teater (The Open Theatre), The Norwegian Touring Theatre and Nordic Black Theatre.
