Shopping and fucking was a theatre production by Turboteateret, Bergen.
The play Shopping and fucking was written by the British playwright Mark Ravenhill. It had its world wide premiere in London in 1996 and is counted among the most important plays within the in-yer-face tradition.

In the spring program of BIT Teatergarasjen in 1999 the following is written about Shopping and Fucking by Turboteatret:
"Turboteatret will as the first theatre company in Norway produce the internationally acclaimed Mark Ravenhill play Shopping and Fucking. This cult piece has been performed in most European countries and everywhere it has gained a lot of attention for its radical form.
It has been butchered, labelled as an anarchist and vulgar piece of crap and hailed as the most ingenious dramaturgy of the decade. In every country where the play has been performed, it has been greatly debated: Does it represent 'the new theatre', and if so, do we want it to be so?
Shopping and Fucking is raw oral sex, cocaine sniffing and bloody anal sex in a perverted, ethically empty age. Ravenhill describes the desperate search to feel something, strongly. To be moved. His thesis is that all that matters to young people of today is shopping and fucking.
A young and unafraid cast is necessary to stage this raw and brutal play. Turboteatret has made its mark as one of the new theatre initiatives of the town and have proven great capacity for stunts and appear to the audience through their performances."
