"Many of today's generation of parents attended Sunday school when they were children. One generation later, the familiarity with religion is almost gone. We can no longer define as a religious society. What happens to Bible history and hymn traditions? What is religion in our time and age?
The production Søndagsskolen uses familiar Bible texts and many of our hymns. The young generation of today might be the first not to learn these Bible stories. What does it mean?
Director Tyra Tønnessen is known for her coherent concepts and genuine depictions of humans. With an ensemble consisting of actors, musicians and children, she is to create a musical and age-transcending performance, in which the rich Bible history is to be used as a framework."
