The seminar Visions for Norwegian theatre posed questions such as the following:
How does Norwegian theatre relate to the contemporary? What happens in Norwegian theatre? How should Norwegian theatre be organised? Can we say that the quality of Norwegian performing arts has increased? How should talents be tended to? Why aren't there more theatre companies working with contemporary drama? How can Norwegian theatre be improved? Which are the visions the different players have in regard to Norwegian theatre?
The speakers at the seminar were Carl Morten Amundsen (then artistic director/CEO at Teateret Vårt/Our Theatre), Tom Remlov (then the leader of the board of BIT Teatergarasjen) and Tove Bratten (Leader of Performing Arts Hub Norway). In the panel were Agnete Haaland (then the leader of The Norwegian Actors' Equity Association/NAEA), Eirik Stubø (then artistic director/CEO at The National Theatre and also a representative for The Contemporary Stage Festival), Ellen Horn (Artistic director/CEO at The Norwegian Touring Theatre), Kristian Seltun (then artistic director/CEO at Black Box Teater and the representative of Performing Arts Network of Norway), Ole Jacob Bull (then the leader of Arts Council Norway), Olemic Thommessen (a parliamentarian for The Conservative Party and a member of the Committee for Cultural Affairs) and Therese Bjørneboe (then a theatre critic for the newspaper Klassekampen and the editor of the journal Norsk Shakespeare og teatertidsskrift). The meeting was chaired by Morten Gjelten (director of NTO, Association of Norwegian Theatres and Orchestras).
