Ut av buret* (Out of the cage)
Ut av buret* (Out of the cage) (1945) was a cabaret production by The National Stage, written by Nils-Reinhardt Christensen in collaboration with an anonymous writer, and with contributions from two English members of the allied forces. Thus it was performed partly in English and partly in Norwegian.
Egil Hjorth-Jenssen directed it.
Ut av buret discussed topical issues at the end of World War II. "German sluts, Nazi boy soldiers and Eva Braun were included", Knut Nygaard and Eiliv Eide write in their history book Den Nationale Scene. 1931-1976 (literally: The National Stage. 1931-1976).
*Not yet translated into the English. The title within parentheses is the Norwegian title's literal meaning.
