Hender* (Hands) by Visjoner Teater asks:
Can one give an artistic expression to humanity? Sympathy? Loving one’s neighbour? What is it to act human?
After a journey to Sarajevo and the former Yugoslavia, the glance was sharpened. To see the people, the places, the faces, the eyes and the hands. The acts of the hands. This is how fragile life is… We witness our own acts. Do we dare to remember; to see the traces we have left? The memories, the signs. If we remember, how do we use our hands, the inside of the hands, towards our fellow humans? To meet a face means to take hold of it, to take responsibility in our hands. Do we dare to?
These are questions Juni Dahr posed to herself.
Hender by Visjoner Teater was supported by Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation, Arts Council Norway, The Norwegian Composers’ Fund, The Norwegian Music Fund, Nordic Council’s committee for theatre and dance.
Hender is a project made in collaboration between The Norwegian Red Cross, Visjoner Teater and Kirkelig Kulturverksted (KKV).
