_INvisible_planet
_INvisible_planet (2000) was a visual solo performance with the dancer Monica Emilie Herstad, in which the meeting between performer and video was central.
In it themes were the presence of the performer and the different illusion shifts the interaction with the film opened for. _INvisible_planet was produced through Herstad's production company herStay.
_INvisible_planetis an installation in three parts.
"The idea is to create a closer relation between the dancer and the audience by having them all move in the same including room. As a spectator one is brought to feel that one is witnessing a dream, or visual connotations to different layers of memories, relived there and then.
The title refers to an attempt to achieve harmony between two different materials, body and video. Is it possible to dance a duet with one's own image, and can living images strengthening a feel of corporality when integrated with a body in movement?
The choreography, or the movement material, consists of the movable body and the changing light and sound projections. The virtual rooms constructed through light and video projections affect the real room, with the dancer. New moods arise in a continuously changing environment", Monica Emilie Herstad says through her webpage.
_INvisible_planet was also performed at White Night Festival's subfestival against drugs (St. Petersburg), Porsgrunn International Theatre Festival/PIT (Porsgrunn), Avant Garden, Ridehuset/The Norwegian Touring Theatre etc.
