Quisling
Quisling by Pontenegrinerne.
Quisling springs out from a meeting between the bishop Eivind Berggrav and the traitor Vidkun Quisling in Quisling’s death row cell shortly before his execution the autumn of 1945. But Quisling is not a play about historic events, it is political theatre discussing several current taboo issues.

Is it not so that there still are quislings, in Norway and abroad? And is it not remarkable how similar these quislings are come to carrying the brand of being a quisling? A quisling doesn’t regret what he has done – a quisling has no ability of regret. A quisling sacrifice for the people and due to this, he is almost impossible to catch. At the same time it is remarkable, and scary, to see how people in meeting with a quisling lose all moral scruples. Everyone agrees death penalty is unacceptable, but still everyone agrees that Quisling has to die. The sooner the better. Quisling allows the people to kill supported by the law. And because he does, we love him.
Quisling was written by the playwright Willy Walder in 2005. In 2008 Symposium (Teaterhuset Avant Garden) arranged a reading of the script, and the reading is the backdrop for the collaboration with Pontenegrinerne.
Pontenegrinerne is a loosely gathered company established in Oslo in 2002. To begin with the company made site-specific theatre in tunnels and outdoors. The past few years the activity has been more sporadic. They collected nice reviews for the most recent performance Dirigenten* (The Conductor) in Teaterhuset Avant Garden in 2008.
