Fratelli Gammelinni by Grenland Friteater was about an old circus troupe with a glamorous past: The charming characters used to travel the world with their master acts; the tightrope walker, the unique White Clown, Augusto the juggler and the others meet in the ring. They are trying to revive what once was, the glamorous, the unique, the amazing. But it is not possible to revive what the time has dissolved. Not just the sand in the ring has a dusty feel to it.

Fratelli Gammelinni was inspired by Federico Fellini's movie I Clowns and is produced by Grenland Friteater, originally as a part of Sense of Place V.

As part of the Sense of Place project Grenland Friteater has cooperated with Meierigården health and activity centre in Porsgrunn. The collaboration started in 2005 when Sense of Place was established as a three year town jubilee celebration project for the municipality of Porsgrunn.

Throughout the Sense of Place productions the theatre and the elderly have worked on different stage arts expressions, including creative dance, theatre, song, textual work, narration and presenting crafts. In some of the performances the elderly has performed with children and youth, making for an intergenerational encounter. Experiences from the collaboration have been valuable for Grenland Friteater as for the elderly.
