Beat Hotel
Beat Hotel by Harakiri Farmers (Poland). Beat Hotel is inspired by the literature of the Beat generation, in particular Allen Ginsberg’s poem Kaddish. Kaddish is a traditional Jewish prayer for the dead, and can be understood as a transition rite, a space in between madness, war, nostalgia and hope.

Harakiri Farmers is a Polish artistic collective based in Krakow. The group mixes dance, theatre and performance in a minimalist humorous aesthetic. The performance Keret, a choreographed adaptation of Etgar Keret's short stories was awarded first prize at the Malta Festival 2008.
The literature of the Beat generation can be seen as some kind of Kaddish for the American utopia, and in Beat Hotel the audience is invited to some kind of requiem for our dying civilization, though: "Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue. And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true".
