The Revelation

The performance "The Revelation" is Leo Bassi’s personal confrontation with Christian fundamentalists. The never tiring cultural activist operates under the motto "Jesus loves you ... but the clown loves you even more". Leo Bassi is as deeply serious as only a clown can be.

In "The Revelation" Leo Bassi’s fundamental view is the following: We live in a terrible paradox. On one hand, a rapid development within research and technology, on the other hand a formidable growth of different religious sects.

Leo Bassi ends "The Revelation" in anger, with the following exclamation:

"I, Leo Bassi, the clown I am, realize that the time has come to stand up for the free ideas. In the names of Descartes, Averroes, Socrates, Confucius, Kant, Einstein and all the scientists and intellectuals from all times I cry: I am SICK AND TIRED. Listen all you charlatans and quasi religious people; let the fear grip you and get ready for THE NEW REVELATION by Leo Bassi."
