In the Solitude of Cotton Fields

The production was the diploma assignments of director student Tormod Carlsen and stage design student Heidi Dalene. He is close to graduating from the director study at Oslo National Academy of the Arts and she from The Norwegian Theatre Academy in Fredrikstad (Østfold College University).

At the website of The Norwegian Theatre the following, among other things, is written about In the Solitude of Cotton Fields:

"Two men, a buyer and a seller, meet in a place and in a time when one can take nothing for granted. Who the two are is a nonessential issue, the important thing is the meeting in itself, the situation developing between the two strangers. The text is a dialogue between two persons who try to approach one another, but without having one of them submit to the other. As long as they talk, the language is their weapon. One only wishes the conversation to continue, so that other and more lethal weapons won't replace the words."

The music is created by the band Lady Hardanger, consisting of Ingeleiv Berstad, Anne Lise Frøkedal, Ingemund Askeland and Olav Christer Rossebø.
