More about Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

At the webpage of The Norwegian Theatre the following, among other things, is written about Cat on a Hot Tin Roof:

"Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is a dramatic family confrontation in which money and love are both at stake. Big Daddy turns 65 years old and is dying of cancer. Home at the plantation his family gathers around him on his birthday. Like a hungry predator the eldest son Gooper with his wife and children circle the ill patriarch. The younger brother Brick fights booze and his suppressed love for a man, and is not interested in his father nor the money. Brick's wife, Maggie, fights to survive her longing for a fully consummated marriage with children and dreams of a life in secure distance from her own poor upbringing. But Brick is unable to forgive her an incident from the past, in which his friend was driven to kill himself. In a strained family celebration old lies are revealed, layer by layer, while new lies make the foundation for an uncertain future.

In the role of the will-strong, rejected Maggie we find Ane Dahl Torp, Endre Hellestveit plays her husband Brick, Big Daddy is interpreted by Sverre Bentzen and Big Mama by Jorunn Kjellsby. In other roles we find Elisabeth Matheson Solberg, Jon Bleiklie Devik, Paul-Ottar Haga and Paul Åge Johannesen."
