Tema Theatre gave the following information about Frihet ble oss født* (Freedom was born to us):
"Tema Theatre has created a poetic journey with freedom as its theme. Garborg, Grieg, Øverland and Bjørnson are some of the names we get to hear from, in addition to Fra Gudbrandsdalen (literally: From The Gudbrandsdalen Valley) from David Monrad Johansen's suite. In the year of the Constitution jubilee it feels good to be reminded of the meaning of words such as peace, freedom, democracy and justice - fragile words that are not always loaded with content, and not always granted to everyone. With a backdrop from contemporary news, this focus is also scarily relevant. But freedom can also, luckily, mean lust, faith, will, dreams, hope - or journeys into endless spaces."
