At the website of Avant Garden the following, among other things, is written about Wellness:

"Wellness is a production that is inspired by the extreme emphasis of exercising and body images of today, of beauty contests, drag queen communities and pop cultural ambitions to change the world. All the wellness methods and treatments of the world are examined during the performers' progress towards reaching their goals and fulfil their full potentials. Militarist crossfit exercises for perfectly tight muscles in all the right places are needed, as are holistic, philosophical, psychotherapeutic and meditation exercises for inner strength.What is their ultimate goal? A perfect symbiosis of a healthy body and a sane mind. And a beautiful appearance. 

With the beauty contests and the world of its contestants among the most important inspiration sources for the project, the performers aim to achieve the appearance of Miss Universe herself. This also goes for the men onstage, and because of this, the world of drag queens also enters as an at least as important source of inspiration. At an early stage thoughts are led to Yanis Marshall's choreography with men dressing in women's clothesto the song Bright Lights by Lana Del Rey, and the cross-dressing and drag queen inspiration is never far away.Without preparing for a discussion on gender."
