"A young boy stands on Ilevollen looking at the travelling people on their way out of town. One of them is his mother. He just doesn't know who.
Nobody knows where Adrian comes from, or who left him on the stairs during a late winter night. He grows up at the infamous Verkshuset; a place for prostitutes and criminal women. Later he comes to Blådegnhuset, an orphanage for boys. To be an orphan towards the end of the 17thcentury was an ill fate. Adrian meets the cold from a town in which people have enough with getting themselves and their nearest though. But within all the cold he also finds a lot of love: Perhaps even most from whom one expects it the least from.
In his three books about Adrian Posepilt Kristian Kristiansen draws a historical image of a Trondheim in which the battle against poverty belonged to daily life for most people. Even though a long time has passed, the street names and places are the same, and because of this, Kristiansen's story becomes timeless: about the people of Trondheim. One of them is Adrian, who experiences great betrayal, but also great love and care. And this evening on Ilevollen, he is fighting to understand, forgive and accept the betrayal - from here his story is told."
