My Stage Children
Throughout 40 years, Else Marie Laukvik has been a central performer at the Danish Odin Teatret. For as long the ensemble has been among the leading within the free and independent stage arts in Europe. In My Stage Children Laukvik recounts her years in the theatre, with words, song and film fragments from Odin Teatret’s many performances.

Else Marie Laukvik was born in Oslo in 1944. In 1964, she was among the five young persons accepting to work with the then unknown Eugenio Barba in Oslo. I am now 65 years old, and in a nostalgic flashback I would like to awaken my stage children back to life. The creative force is like a constant child birth, and all the characters I have given life to in the theatre, are my stage children, Else Marie Laukvik says.
