At the webpage of Oslo Nye Teater (Oslo New Theatre) the following, among other things, is written about Anaconda:

"Harassment and sexual violence which are silenced into oblivion, shame, life-lie, traumas and forgiveness. Topical, hurtful and tabooed one can certainly label Anaconda; Australian Sarah Doyle's recent play from 2012.

Anaconda has been inspired by actual events at a prominent, exclusive upper secondary school in Sydney in 2000. In front of their peers two young boys were subject to durational terrible abuse from fellow pupils. Based on this story Sarah Doyle has written a fictional and strong play discussing challenges after an extreme harassment scandal. The characters are caught up in their own pasts and confronted with their hurtful secrets. Can one ever be reconciled, forgive or be forgiven?"

Anaconda by Oslo Nye Teater (Oslo New Theatre) in collaboration with Blendwerk has been supported by SPENN.no, The Audio Visual Fund and the Freedom of Expression Foundation Fritt Ord.
