"With Snow, Fritzøe entered the kingdom of snow, fairytale and narration, factual as well as factual stories. He took inspiration from Scott, Amundsen, Nansen, Vesaas' The Ice Castle, Ibsen's Rosmersholm, H.C. Andersen's The Snow Queen and the White Jade Dragon Maiden from China's mysterious mountain valleys.
(…)
Snow convincingly balanced the different elements: The monumental, modernist stage design by Karl Hansen, Espen Tversland's graphic animation, creating more or less abstract expressions for ice, mountains and snow across the stage's landscape, Bjarne Kvinnsland's rich musical arrangement, not least Kathrine Tolo's playful, most often white costumes, at times totally crazy, characterised by merry abundance. All of this created good conditions for the stay in Winter Wonder Land.
But the balance could have become uneven. Each element demanded room and got a lot of attention. Still Fritzøe managed to connect it all, to create a composition that was both free-flowing and strict, the shifts were sliding, but each part had its distinct characteristics, more or less formal or theatrical. Visually, and in dance."

"This is an adventurous production, where the audience is moved from one adventurous snow image to the next, solemnly by simple changes in costumes and lighting."
