Oscar and the Lady in Pink
Oscar and the Lady in Pink was a theatre production by Trøndelag Theatre, produced in 2014 and based on a novel by Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt.
Kjersti Haugen directed it, and was also responsible for the stage design.

"We are born, and we die. Life is what we spend the time in between on. Oscar is 10 years old, seriously ill, and knows he is soon to die. Granny Rose works on the hospital where Oscar is a resident. And when other adults shrink away in fear of the approaching death, the two examine life in all its diversity. During a few days - and with imagination, humour and wisdom.

Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt is one of France's most read and translated writers (Sceneweb's comment: Though he is born in France, he is a Belgian citizen and now lives in Belgium). He also has great success as a playwright, and his plays have been performed in more than 50 countries. Oscar and the Lady in Pink was not originally written for the stage, but is one of five novels Schmitt has labelled The Cycle of the Invisible.
