Amadeus

Amadeus (1980) was a theatre production by The National Theatre, the Norwegian premiere of the play by Peter Shaffer. The production was planned for the theatre's main stage, but the stage was destroyed by a fire. Because of this, the production was performed in front of the iron curtain in front of the stage. The role of Kaiser Joseph II was acted from the royal balcony.

Toralv Maurstad directed the production.

Ole-Jørgen Nilsen played the role of Antonio Salieri.

Svein Sturla Hungnes played the role of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The stage designer was Lubos Hruza.
