The Quiet Dance/Speaking Dance is a double-billed performance about the relationship between music and dance as regarded from different perspectives. The two dancers produce some sort of choreographic comedy, in which subtle shifts, improvisations and breaches from conventions break through to create a new expression. The audience are thrown between something similar to a dance marathon, in which the two dancers switches between small gestures, quick step sequences and silent intensity of communication between the dancers and between dancers and audience. All of this is mixed with a time-to-time cappella of words and sounds, plus a small dose of Italian folkloric song and bird tweets.
Between 2002 and 2008 the duo performed 144 performances in a total of 36 countries, including Norway. In 2004 they visited Norway with the production Both Sitting Duet, the first part of the trilogy for which they also won the prestigious Bessie Award during New York Dance & Performance Award.
