The Ping Pong Hostage Operation (2002) by Baktruppen: During the seminar "Capitals in conversation", led by Mårten Spångberg, at Gulbenkian Foundation Modern Art Centre in Lisbon, Baktruppen arranged an outdoors ping pong tournament being video transmitted to the auditorium where the seminar took place.

During one of the lectures the white-clad Baktruppen Ping Pong Club went in to attack the moderator Spångberg, making him exit by force. Baktruppen bound him and gagged him. Then they sent the following message to the seminar participants:
DON'T PANIC. WE HAVE TAKEN YOUR MODERATOR. TO GET HIM BACK YOU HAVE TO BEAT BAKTRUPPEN IN PING PONG. PICK YOUR BEST PLAYER. NOW.
