PRAVDA by Ingri Fiksdal works with developing the idea about a humorous dance universe, in which elements such as text, theatre and video have a natural place.

A performance is both a construction and a real event. Through episodic progress the dance theatre production PRAVDA juggles rhythmic terms of truth with gymnastic perceptions of reality. The journey goes from the micro perspective of the body and its senses to a macro universe of fabricated truths and structural changes in society. The trip goes via The Yellow Brick Road, back in time, over Olympia and into fiction, and all the time we have to watch out for what happens in the background.

Ingri Fiksdal is educated as a choreographer from Oslo National Academy of the Arts (2006). The same year she made the production The Happy Place (2006). For her production PRAVDA Fiksdal has brought in several new collaboration partners.

Pravda is the Russian word for truth. It is also the name of a popular vodka and one of the major newspapers in Russia from 1912. The newspaper was the personal favourite of Lenin’s and it spoke for the Bolsheviks. Recently the newspaper Prada had the following to say about the former Rumanian gymnastics princess Nadia Comaneci: "Her new snakeskin jacket represents her individuality and her personal freedom". Listen to the wind of change.
