At the webpage of Black Box Teater the following, among other things, is written about De Utvalgte* (The Chosen Ones):
"Apricot trees exist. Love exists. Chromosomes exist. Death exists.
The Lord said: 'I will wipe humankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth - everything from humankind to animals, including creatures that move on the ground and birds of the air, for I regret that I have made them'.
The Lord said to Noah: 'You must take with you seven of every kind of clean animal, the male and its mate, two of every kind of unclean animal, the male and its mate,and also seven of every kind of bird in the sky, male and female, to preserve their offspring on the face of the earth'."
The production contains excerpts from Alphabet by Inger Christensen. Other texts have been developed by the ensemble.

"The room 'disappears', and the humans onstage are out in the universe, on a starry sky. [...] The ability to get close to the world, feel in sync with the universe and recognise oneself in the other. Most of the actors [...] have Down Syndrome [...] video recordings [offers] the opportunity to close-ups taking one's breath away. So naked. So fragile and at the same time brutal, is this a production communicating something about living with one's senses wide open. If one can, and dares to. [...] up to us what kind of moral and political, or spiritual, content we read into it. But I sit with a feeling to be close to the core of what this discussion is about."

"It would be easy to point moral fingers and hint that those who support amniotic fluid testing and free abortion are economy-ruled antagonists of diversity, or to claim they share the worldview of Doctor Krogshøj in Lars von Trier's The Kingdom, who calculates how much a brain-damaged child will cost and then cuts the electricity of the hospital to kill off the weak. The issue is more complex than that, and it seems De Utvalgte has taken that seriously. They provide more questions than answers."
