Woman
Woman is a production by the art company Institutet.
At the webpage of Bastard, the international performing arts festival of Trondheim, the following, among other things, is written about Woman:
"It has been claimed that the woman doesn't exist outside the range of the man's glance, and that sexual liberation can't be based on the binary relationship between the two sexes. Institutet sees a parallel in the theatre, where the work and the roles are created because the spectators act in a structure in which they observe what happens onstage.
As such, everyone is pulled into a game between being the subject and the object, in which there is uncertainty as to who observes and who is observed. Like that the invisible rules and social hierarchies may become visible through the theatre."

At the webpage of Bastard, the international performing arts festival of Trondheim, the following, among other things, is written about Woman:
"Institutet always start it works with the question: How can theatre perform criticism of society? The company is like a school teaching how to look at anything in a manner critical to ideologies, and the lesson number one is: Do not believe what you see!
(...)
Institutet has the repute of one of the most courageous theatre ensembles in the Nordic countries. The company was formerly based in Malmö, Sweden, but has moved to Berlin, where the artists collaborate with German theatres and performing artists. The company visited Avant Garden in 2009 with Triptych on Essence, a production several find to be something of the best having ever visited us. When Woman was performed at Inkonst in Malmö the spring of 2012 it released, as so often before, harsh judgment from the critics – ethically as well as aesthetically - but support from the audience."
Supported by: The National Public Arts Council in Sweden, Kultur Malmö, the region of Skåne.
The visiting performance in Trondheim was supported by: Nordic Excellence Network, The theatre friend association Teatrets venner - Trondheim.

"They sink the woman and deny her the right to speak. They reduce her to a piece of meat, open to parasites."
