    More about An-Magritt

At the webpage of The Norwegian Theatre the following, among other things, is written about An-Magritt:

"An-Magritt builds on the Falkberget opus The Bread of Night AKA Nightly Bread (1940-59), and is an event-filled, dramatic story about a young girl's struggle in life and her belief in love. We are brought back to the mining adventure of the Røros district during the 17thcentury, and in the centre is An-Magritt, born outside of wedlock, whose job is transporting ore.

She falls in love with the German mining engineer Johannes, and has to defend herself against gossip and envy. Unafraid, proud and honest An-Magritt fights for a dignified life, and for many she has become the very symbol of the struggle for justice and love. Henning Sommerro's evocative, pulsating music follows the story closely and makes An-Magritt unique in being a fully Norwegian and moving musical."
