What you need to know
What you need to know by Random Scream (USA/Belgium). What you need to know is part of a bigger project called Saving Lies, attempting to prepare the spectator for those unfortunate circumstances during which you might have to defend and protect yourself or the ones you love – and you stand with a weapon in your hand. The piece in no way promotes violence but simply supposes that if it has to be you or them it will be better if it’s them. Probably. What you need to know is performed by Davis Freeman and a dancer.

In What you need to know by Random Scream Davis Freeman provides a simple introduction to using weapons under less than great circumstances. You can pick your own weapon. A Kalashnikov, which is the most widespread hand gun in the world, a Colt or a shotgun? Is the weapon real? Would you shoot the dancer if she came screaming towards you?
The performance takes advantage of the energy in the particular meeting with one’s own will to take part when everything comes to an end. Who are quick on the trigger? Who find other solutions? What you need to know by Random Scream is a challenging work, in both senses of the word, in the intersection between performer and spectator.
