The Lamella

- a concert tribute to Jacques Lacan

The Lamella - a concert tribute to Jacques Lacan by Ane Lan is based on the French psychiatrist Lacan's theories.

Lacan introduced “the lamella” as a symbol of human desire to understand Freud's concept of "the super ego" and "death drive". The performance examines the polarisation between Islamic versus Western culture through the creation of enemy images in animated video games.

The Lamella - a concert tribute to Jacques Lacan by Ane Lan was supported by The Audio Visual Fund, The Fund for Performing Artists, Atelier Nord, Galleri Maria Veie and the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs/MFA (travel grant/performing arts).
