RE-ACTION
RE-ACTION by Kompani iRo was created by Inger‐Reidun Olsen during a residency at Experimental El Eco in Mexico City. It is a dance performance that explores the phenomenon of power by probing the ways in which power dynamics affect people.
Kompani iRo tailored RE‐ACTION specifically to the premiere performance, October 30th 2011, at the gallery space .NO in New York City.

The interactive structure of RE‐ACTION allows the performers to leverage the viewers' participation to call attention to the power relations that emerge among them, in the dancers' relationship to the audience and between performers and onlookers.
Parallels may be drawn from such relations to a societal perspective where one continually has to take a stand on and negotiate power - both on a personal level in people's daily lives and on the grand scale of national and global macropolitics.
RE‐ACTION by Kompani iRo was supported by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs/MFA (travel grant/performing arts).
