In the program for Dans 1993 Bergen the following is written about Smålongeren by Riss Dansekompani and Reijo Kela.
"With Smålongeren Riss Dansekompani follows up the former outdoors performances Rester* (Left-overs) (1991) and Kapteinen* (The Captain) (1992).
This time the venue is the heart of Bergen city centre, and the visiting choreographer is Finnish Reijo Kela.
Kela has, as a choreographer, developed a distinct choreographic expression in the genre of environmental dance, using urban landscapes, nature, farms etc., allowing the dancers as well as the audience operate freely within the scenery."
