Helen Pickett is trained at San Francisco Ballet School, has worked as a principal dancer with Ballet Frankfurt, and as actor, dancer and choreographic consultant with legendary The Wooster Group from New York.
Pickett taught improvisational techniques during the workshop. The spine of the class is centred on William Forsythe's "Improvisation Modalities". The other anchors include total body listening, task commitment, focused back-of-body work, musicality precision through the feet and breaking down barriers of judgment and criticism.
Helen Pickett also held classes for dancers in Studio Bergen, during the festival Oktoberdans October 11-15.
