Jeg kjenner en som...* (I know one who...)

Jeg kjenner en som...* (I know one who...) was a theatre production by Nord og Ned Produksjoner. The production dealt with the subject of "not being seen as an expression of the rejection of the surroundings".

Nord og Ned Produksjoner wrote the following to expand on the subject: "Rejection is something of the most fatal, irreversible a human being can be exposed for. In rejection lays a kind of invisible violence, violence as a kind of abuse the human is unable to meet, neither in a one-on-one relation nor in larger social connections. In the subconsciousness of the human this violence again becomes visible, personality is broken down, and the fight to be seen becomes existential, not necessarily rational."

The monologue Jeg kjenner en som…* (I know one who...) by Nord og Ned Produksjoner was based on interviews with adults who had met violence as children or youths. Among the interviewed were prisoners in Oslo Prison, former drug addicts, immigrants from Somalia and Pakistan, one who grew up with a psychopath father. Philosophers, a violence and gang researcher and employees from an orphanage were also used as sources.

Jeg kjenner en som... was performed in schools. It was not announced to the pupils. Instead it was presented as a surprise meet in form of a "substitute lesson", during which the teacher is not present. Effects such as light, sound, stage design or props were not in use. The actor only used himself and the stage design of the class room (desks, chairs), using whatever was in the room as props.
