Amadeus was a theatre production produced by Trøndelag Theatre and Oslo Nye Teater (Oslo New Theatre) in collaboration in 2001, based on the play by Peter Schaffer. The production was first staged at Trøndelag Theatre, then at Oslo Nye Teater (Oslo New Theatre).

Carl Jørgen Kiønig directed it.

Terje Strømdahl interpreted the role of Antonio Salieri. He won The Hedda Award 2001 in the particularly excellent performance category for the role. Strømdahl acted the role at both theatres, whereas the rest of the cast was changed.

Trond Fausa Aurvåg acted the role of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart at Oslo Nye Teater (Oslo New Theatre).

Amadeus won The Hedda Award 2001 in the best production category.

Amadeus was first performed in Trondheim, opening March 16 2001. Next it was transferred to Oslo Nye Teater (Oslo New Theatre), where it was performed the autumn season of 2001. Both places Carl Jørgen Kiønig was responsible for the direction, Pekka Ojamaa was responsible for the stage design, and Morten Reinan created the lighting design. The same script, translated from the English by Torstein Bugge Høverstad, was used in both theatres.
