Welcome to the opening of Future Echoes – a scenographic exploration of different futures imagined by the artists Helena Zaïda, Silvia Kostolanská, Vilde Stensland Vinje.
Three different artistic visions about the future:
Police presence and violence have grown, so has the production of waste. Waste is now the common material for everyday items including cups, bowls and even toilets. The visitors find themselves in a holding cell, abandoned but filled with traces of the people who have been here before.
The world has changed, and so has the way we make decisions together. Young people, growing up during major challenges value fairness, transparency and teamwork. But even in 2063, voters must think critically about the leaders they choose and the future they’re shaping.
Once the cars disappeared the city’s streets were reclaimed by its inhabitants. Former asphalt roads got turned into water canals, giving living ground for aquatic life in the middle of Grønland.
Helena Zaïda, Silvia Kostolanská, Vilde Stensland Vinje are doing the master programme in Scenography at the Norwegian Theatre Academy – University College Østfold.
Future Echoes is a part of the exhibition Beyond Barcode.
