SOS – Theatrical Booklaunch

Sabmie Ovttastuvvon Siiddat – Theatrical attempts at creating an uncolonized world

SOS – Theatrical Booklaunch (2023) was a production by Juho-Sire /Siri Broch Johansen.

The production was described in the programme:

"This is a stage script. It will not be staged. It should be read aloud together. In the book you will find instructions on how it can be done. With this artistic publication, Siri Broch Johansen returns to the primeval theater as the art of telling a story together. We haven’t seen any other books in this particular genre before. The aim of the book is to get groups of people to read the story of Sabmie Ovttastuvvon Siiddat together, and perhaps write some new scenes that only they know. This is both an attempt to help decolonize the theatre, and to use theater to decolonize the world outside.

In this theatrical book release, Siri Broch Johansen guides us to the SOS world. We will draw lots for the order of some of the scenes in the play, and those who want to can participate in reading them."
